What is in here, and what sits elsewhere

Two pieces of this plan are long enough to be their own documents, so they are. Everything else is below.

In one paragraph

The business

The Woven Room is a faith-led membership room for women who run something in Rutherford County. Faith comes first. Every gathering opens with prayer and a short devotional, members can bring prayer needs for their business or their life, and speakers and workshops tie the business back to faith.

Thirty seats, roughly three women per industry, meeting monthly over breakfast with a speaker who has to teach as well as talk. Members pay forty dollars a month. The room is capped on purpose, and when it fills, a second chapter opens rather than the first one growing.

It is an LLC owned by Kate Parker and Jennifer Lawrence, founded together in August 2026. It opens to the public on Thursday 14 January 2027, which is a little under four months away.

What a member is actually buying is a morning that starts with God and a seat chosen for her. Faith sets the tone before anyone talks business, and the seating chart decides before she arrives who she is going to meet.

She is buying a room that prays with her, and the right eight women to sit beside.

The promise the whole model rests on

The room

Where it meets, and what that costs

The Urban Social in downtown Murfreesboro, the room behind White Monkey Market. Jennifer has hosted monthly breakfasts there before, and a standing proposal is with the owners now.

Address
The Urban Social, 224 W Main Street, Murfreesboro TN 37130. Owners Jeremy and Kellie Myers, urbansocialboro@gmail.com or 615-580-7251.
What it is
An event room for up to 50 guests, behind White Monkey Market, a vintage and local-brands shop. Business events and community groups are part of what they host.
Published rates
Monday to Thursday, $130 an hour plus a $75 cleaning fee, two hour minimum. Friday to Sunday, $150 an hour plus $125 cleaning, four hour minimum.
What we proposed
$500 a month for one weekday breakfast, 7 to 11am, and one weekday evening workshop, 5:30 to 8:30pm, paid monthly from November 2026, with no annual term.
Still to confirm
Jeremy and Kellie’s answer. Until they agree, the $500 line is our proposal and nothing more.

Why $500 is the right ask

At their published weekday rates, a four hour breakfast and a three hour evening come to $1,060 a month, cleaning included. $500 for both is about half of that.

Both events sit Monday to Thursday on purpose. A Friday evening moves onto the weekend rate and its four hour minimum.

Rates read from urbansocialboro.net on 27 September 2026 and checked again on 29 September.

The money

What it costs to run, and when it pays for itself

This is an event budget. It is honest about being one, and the gap between an event budget and an operating budget is the single biggest risk in this document.

Everything the table above leaves out

Insurance. Software. Banking. The website. Printing. Speakers. Event supplies. Marketing. State and federal filings. Professional services. Any help at all, paid or volunteer.

None of it is priced, and every one of those lines is real. Twenty-one members covers the room. It does not cover the business. Ginger named this exact gap as the thing she wishes she had known, and putting a number on each line is the next serious piece of work after this plan is agreed.

The second table holds the costs we do know about and that do not repeat monthly. Everything in this box is the work still to do.

The first pass at that work is the operating budget, draft one, 7 October.

Grants are not in this plan, and cannot be

An LLC is not eligible for most of them. That was understood when the entity was chosen on 2 September, and it is the reason dues and sponsorship have to carry the whole thing. If a foundation is added later to hold donations and scholarship seats, grants come back on the table. Nothing in this plan assumes it.

The offer

What forty dollars a month actually buys

A room that opens in prayer, and three things built into every month.

It starts with faith

Every gathering, breakfast and evening alike, opens with prayer and a short devotional. Any member can bring a prayer need for her business or her life. Speakers and workshops tie what they teach back to faith.

One

A seat chosen for her

Somebody decides who she sits beside before she arrives.

A questionnaire at registration, never in the room, feeds a seating chart that is built before every breakfast. She is greeted at the door and walked to her table.

This is the product. When a morning gets busy, this is the thing that never slips.

Two

A speaker who teaches

Every speaker does the breakfast and an evening workshop on the same material.

Booking is conditional on both. Every speaker ties the business back to faith. If we cannot name the thing a member will do differently on Monday, that speaker does not come back.

The unlimited studio membership is what makes the second session cost nothing.

Three

A room that stays small

Thirty seats, roughly three women per industry, at different stages.

The cap is what a referral-driven member is paying for. Bending it once sells the same seat twice, and the women already in that category find out first.

When it fills, a new chapter opens rather than this one growing.

A fourth thing, and it costs us nothing

Grant money that funds our members

There is a whole category of funding aimed at women who run businesses, and it is open to them whether or not this company is ever eligible for a dollar of it. Teaching it would fill a room on its own.

Amber Grant
WomensNet awards $10,000 every month across several tracks, plus three $50,000 awards a year, around $510,000 a year in total. There is a dedicated startup grant for a business still in the idea phase or under $10,000 in sales, so the newest woman in the room can apply on her first day.
Live Your Dream Awards
Soroptimist funds women who are the primary financial support for their families and are in education or training, distributing more than $3.4 million a year to over 2,300 women. Applications run 1 August to 15 November every year, so the window is open as this is written.

Why this belongs in the plan rather than in a nice-to-have list

A standing session on how to actually win these makes the education pillar concrete instead of aspirational, and it gives a member something to tell another woman about. It is also the cheapest programming we will ever run, because the material is public and the expertise is ours to build once.

Both programmes read from their own sites on 17 September 2026. Two others carried on the August plan, Verizon and Comcast RISE, are deliberately left off until somebody confirms they are open to Middle Tennessee, because Comcast RISE runs in named metro markets and nothing confirms ours is one of them.

The year

From here to launch, and through the first year

Now, September

Agree the plan, and sit down with the studio

This document and the member portrait go to Jennifer and then to the founding women. In parallel, the room proposal goes to Jeremy and Kellie at The Urban Social.

1 October

Social starts

She sees the room before she is ever asked to join it. Faces, what a speaker taught, who met whom. The images come from a founding dinner shot before this date, which is why the dinner needs a date now.

October to December

Soft launch events, and recruiting by name

$20 tickets. Each of us should be able to say who we are asking next and why that particular woman belongs in that particular seat. General invitations get ignored, so we do not send them.

Before launch

Filed, insured, banked and papered

Cynthia files the LLC. The operating agreement gets written, because it replaces bylaws and it is the founders' real protection. Insurance, a bank account and the unpriced lines above all get numbers.

Thursday 14 January 2027

Public launch

Twenty-one paying members covers the room from day one. The same twenty-one carries year two, because the monthly cost is identical in both.

Through year one

Monthly breakfast, monthly workshop, and the rest

Each gathering opens with prayer and a short devotional, and members can bring prayer needs for their business or their life. A wins segment follows. Referral data is aggregated monthly so members can see the return. Quarterly awards, and a dress-up dinner once a year.

Who does what

The two of us, and how we get paid

Agreed at the founding meeting on 8 August. Both founders are vendors to the business with no profit share, which keeps the arrangement clean while the room is small.

Jennifer
Hosts and runs the breakfasts, recruits and vets speakers, corporate sponsorship outreach, the public face in the room.
Kate
Website, software and member data, social strategy, branding, and the live video stream at each breakfast we run.
Both
Welcoming members, member conversations, vetting speakers, and curating the table pairings.
Vendors
Faith on social posting and graphics, paid from January. Ashlynn on photography. Cynthia on the formation and the books.
Risks, stated plainly

The four things most likely to go wrong

One

The operating costs nobody has priced

Twenty-one members covers a room, a breakfast and a bookkeeper. Insurance, software, banking, the website, printing and speaker costs are all real and all currently zero on paper. The honest break-even is higher than twenty-one and nobody knows yet by how much.

The fix is arithmetic, and it should happen before anyone is asked to pay.

Two

A competitor at three dollars less

Women Connect has a Rutherford County chapter at $37 a month. There is also a free weekly networking meeting in Murfreesboro with 1,746 members on Meetup. Ours is the priciest seat on a ladder that already has plenty of rungs.

That is survivable only if the difference is obvious inside the first twenty minutes of her first morning, which puts all the weight on how the morning opens, on the seating chart and on who we book.

Three

The venue is not a venue yet

The Urban Social has published rates and room for 50, and a proposal is with the owners. Nothing is agreed yet, and the whole budget above rests on the $500 a month line.

Until Jeremy and Kellie say yes, treat the room cost as a good estimate rather than a fact.

Four

The recruiting window is narrow and partly restricted

There is a six month non-solicit covering the former Murfreesboro chapter contacts, and it runs from the date the amendment is signed. Signing it sooner ends it sooner. General marketing and inbound contact should be carved out of it in writing, which is the single most useful change we could ask Kelci for.

It binds Jennifer, and the room is built by asking women one at a time, so it shapes the entire recruiting runway between now and the launch.

Where things stand

Settled, and open

Agreed by both of us already

  • The name, the tapestry framework, and the brand.
  • An LLC rather than a 501(c)(3), decided 2 September.
  • Launch Thursday 14 January 2027.
  • Dues of $40 a month, and founding members lock that rate for three years.
  • A cap around thirty, after which a second chapter opens.
  • Both founders are vendors, with no profit share.
  • Roughly three women per industry, each at a different stage of building.
  • Faith leads the room. Every gathering opens with prayer and a short devotional. Decided 11 October.

Needs a decision

  • The annual price. Kate's call is $480 with no prepay discount, and Jennifer has not weighed in.
  • The mission, vision and seven values, written 3 September and rewritten 11 October so faith leads them.
  • The member portrait, and whether the founding women actually match it.
  • The board question. Faith asked in August to serve on a Board of Directors, and an LLC does not have one. Someone needs to go back to her and to the others with what the real role is.
  • The operating agreement. Nothing is written.
  • The domain, the logo and the brand files all sit in Kate's name today. They either transfer across to the company or they get licensed to it properly.
  • The date of the founding dinner, which the social launch depends on.
Next

The five things that move this forward

1

Hear back from The Urban Social

Jennifer signs off on the proposal, then we take it to Jeremy and Kellie. The $500 line either holds or the budget changes.

2

Put the amendment to bed

Signed by both, on the same copy, with the public announcement carve-out in it. The clock only starts when it is signed.

3

Price the missing lines

Insurance, software, banking, website, printing, speakers, supplies and filings. Then rerun the break-even and see what the honest number is.

4

Set the founding dinner

It is the image shoot for everything posted from 1 October, so it has to happen well before then.

5

Go back to the women who said yes in August

Faith, Hannah, Kayla, Sherry and Susan were asked about a board. They deserve to hear what the role actually is now, from a person rather than a post.
