Name badges

Her name, large enough to read across a table, and one line underneath that is not a job title. The room opens with what are you building, so the badge asks the same thing. A first gathering marker lets a member spot someone new and go and say hello, which is the arrival ritual doing its job without anyone being told to work the room.

Member badge

Printed from registration, so it is waiting for her when she arrives.

Print specification

Size
4 × 3 inches landscape, which drops into a standard 4×3 badge holder and matches Avery 5392 inserts. Supplied at 4.25 × 3.25 with 0.125in bleed, because the Thread runs off both edges on purpose.
Inks
Two. Mulberry #71344F and Antique Gold #B58A4A, same as the Thread Cards, so both can run on one job.
The paper is the ivory
Background unprinted. Warm natural or cream uncoated, so the sheet supplies the warmth.
Name size
30pt, dropping to 24pt for a long name. Readable across a round table, which is the whole point of a badge and the thing most of them fail at.
Holders
Avoid a lanyard if you can. A magnetic backer sits flat, does not swing, and does not put a hole in anyone's silk. Pin backs are the fallback.
At home
Use the 6-up letter sheet below on 65lb or 80lb cover, then trim on the dashed guides.

The second line, and why it is not a job title

What it says
What she is building, becoming, leading or creating. Pulled from one registration question: "What are you building right now?" Twelve words maximum, so it fits on one line.
Why
The guide says people deserve to be known beyond their title, profession or usefulness. A job title on a badge invites the room to sort itself by status before anyone has spoken.
Blank is fine
If she left it empty at registration, print the name alone. An empty second line is better than a title she did not choose to lead with.
First gathering
Set in gold on the write-on version. It is a cue for members to go and welcome her, and it should be retired from her badge on the second visit without any ceremony.

Six-up letter sheet

For printing a handful at home the night before. Trim on the dashed guides.
